In a motorcycle showroom it is the floor that organises the display: each carpet island marks where one machine stands.
Displaying motorcycles has a difficulty of its own: the machines sit low, take little floor area and get lost if they are lined up against the walls like goods. The space solves this through the floor — oval islands of dark carpet cut into the pale flooring define the display positions and leave a continuous route between them, with no drawn corridors.
Colour arrives in vertical bands that tie the room together and signal the service area from a distance. The counter is high, set against the coloured wall, with stools that allow a short conversation without leaving the display floor, and the screen above it handles the demonstration a stationary machine cannot.
The upper floor opens over the main room behind a glass balustrade, which makes the whole display visible from above and lets the gallery take accessories and equipment without closing the height down.
