In Loures, a distributor street splits the AUGI into two blocks — and the reconversion uses it to carry the rural green through to the plots' urban frontage.
Bairro Quinta da Bola is characterised by a distributor street linking the settlements of Moninhos and Tojalinho, splitting the AUGI into two blocks, west and east. This linear structure results from a more recent use of the subdivision of the farm estate, since the road to the west was the link between the various rural land parcels. The present urban fabric, still unconsolidated, is further marked by a heterogeneity of building types, resting on diverse morphologies that follow the adaptation to the morphological conditions of the ground.
The reconversion proposal sets out to reinforce the continuity of the green belt in a rural context, in particular through the parcels ceded for public use, the private green spaces and the strengthening of the tree cover along the plots’ urban frontage.
